Model 336 RPM Indicator

RPM Indicator
The Model 336 RPM Indicator provides two internal tachometers that are independently connected to each aircraft ignition system. Either one or both ignition systems may be connected to the RPM indicator. These ignition systems can be any combination of standard aircraft magneto (Bendix, Slick, etc), electronic ignitions system with 5 volt or 12 volt tach outputs, or standard automotive ignition. The indicator is compatible with most turbine engine tachometer generators. magneto and CDI ignition combinations, such as those found on Rotax engines can also be used. Ignition system types must be specified when ordering RPM indicators.
Loss of ignition signal from either ignition system is indicated to the pilot using annunciators on the indicator face. Proper use of these signal loss annunciators can assist in the detection of possible "Hot" Magneto conditions.
In most cases, installation is accomplished by attaching the ignition sense wires of the RPM indicator to the appropriate terminals on the ignition switch. No sensors or wiring are installed in the engine compartment, and , in some cases, costly tachometer drives can be deleted from the engine.
When performing pre-flight ignition system checks, the Tachometer will calculate the mag-drop value.
The tachometer is normally configured to operate an engine timer. This timer
can be factory pre-set.
